Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Gesort (“we”, “us”, “Gesort”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

This policy covers two different things we do, because they involve different information:

  • Running gesort.co.za itself — if you visit the site or contact us to ask about the platform.
  • Providing our WhatsApp Business Platform and property-management software to the businesses (“Clients”) who use it. Where we process a Client’s own guest or customer data as part of delivering that service, we do so as an Operator acting on the Client’s instruction — the Client remains the Responsible Party for their own customers’ information under POPIA, and their own privacy policy governs that relationship, not this one.

Responsible Party (for gesort.co.za and our own business data): GESORT (Pty) Ltd · Registration number 2026/643874/07 · 23 Main Avenue, Maidstone, oThongathi, KwaZulu-Natal

Information Officer: Elri Marais · get@gesort.co.za

01What information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Enquiry details — your name, email address or WhatsApp number, and the content of your message, if you contact us to ask about Gesort.
  • Technical information — basic, aggregated information collected automatically when you visit the site, such as which pages are viewed, the type of device and browser, and the country the visit came from, used to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. See section 6.
  • Client and platform account data — where a business signs up as a Gesort Client, the business and account details needed to set up and run their platform account.
  • Messaging data processed on a Client’s behalf — as their WhatsApp Business Platform provider, messages, phone numbers and related WhatsApp Business Account information pass through our platform so a Client can communicate with their own customers. This is the Client’s data, handled on their instruction — see the note above.

We aim to collect only what we need to run the site and the platform.

02Why we use your information

We process personal information to:

  • operate gesort.co.za and respond to enquiries;
  • provide, maintain and support the platform for our Clients, under our agreement with them;
  • meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations; and
  • protect our rights and property, and prevent fraud or misuse.

Our lawful bases under POPIA include our legitimate business interests, performance of our agreement with a Client, compliance with the law, and — where applicable — your consent.

03We do not sell your information

We do not sell or rent personal information — not visitor or enquiry data, not the messaging data we process on a Client’s behalf — to anyone, for any purpose.

04Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run gesort.co.za and the platform, with:

  • Meta / the WhatsApp Business Platform — message delivery, as the underlying platform our messaging is built on;
  • Supabase — database and file storage;
  • Vercel — application and website hosting;
  • Resend — sending email on the platform’s behalf;
  • Google Firebase — push notifications to the Gesort Go app;
  • Zoho — email hosting;
  • Google Drive — document storage;
  • OpenAI — voice-note transcription and content drafting;
  • PayFast — payment processing;
  • NightsBridge — reservation data exchange;
  • Professional advisors (such as our accountant) and authorities, where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure information continues to receive a level of protection consistent with POPIA.

05How we protect and retain information

We take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep information secure and to guard against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect information in our control, and will notify affected people and the Information Regulator of a breach as required by law.

We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purposes above, or as required by law, then securely delete or de-identify it.

06Cookies and analytics

gesort.co.za sets no tracking cookies. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it counts page views in aggregate and does not identify you, follow you across sites, or store anything on your device for that purpose. There is nothing to opt out of and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

07Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • request that we correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request that we delete information we no longer have a lawful basis to keep;
  • object to processing in certain circumstances, and withdraw consent; and
  • complain to us, and to the Information Regulator.

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer using the details above.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above.

09Contact us

For any privacy question or request, contact us at get@gesort.co.za.

Please note: this is a plain-language privacy notice. POPIA also requires the Responsible Party to register an Information Officer with the Information Regulator and to maintain a PAIA manual — those are separate compliance steps this page does not replace.
